Motorvej 44 – Kortform: Autobahn 44 – strækker sig fra den tysk-belgiske grænse i Nordrhein-Westfalen til den nordøstlige del af Hessen. En forlængelse til delstatsgrænsen ved Thüringen er under opførelse.
Motorvejen består af et vestligt afsnit fra Aachen over Mönchengladbach og Düsseldorf til Essen samt et østligt afsnit fra Dortmund over Kassel til Waldkappel. Ruten for A 44 er mange steder afbrudt, og en del af hullerne skal lukkes i de kommende år. Et oprindeligt planlagt mellemafsnit fra Velbert over Bochum til Dortmund er ikke længere planlagt.
