Ruinen af Reifferscheid Slot ligger i en højde af 450 m over havets overflade nær den tysk-belgiske grænse mellem Eifel og Ardennerne i det nordrhein-westfalske område, i kommunen Hellenthal i Landkreis Euskirchen, specifikt i bydelen Reifferscheid. Dens navn stammer sandsynligvis fra et rydningsområde, der tilhørte en mand ved navn Rifhari, da navnene „Rifersceith“ eller „Rifheres-sceit“ betyder „Skovdel af Rifhari“.
