Falkenstein er en af de mest imponerende fritstående klipper i den Svariske Schweiz i Fristaten Sachsen. Den ligger ved Bad Schandau i Schrammstenene, som den er placeret foran. Den enorme klippe er næsten hundrede meter høj og består af sandsten. I middelalderen var der en borgvagt på Falkenstein - endnu i dag kan man se trin og bjælkegange hugget ind i klippen.
Formentlig siden midten af det 14. århundrede blev Falkenstein udbygget og anvendt som borgvagt. Den tilhørte ligesom næsten hele den højre elbiske Svariske Schweiz herredømmet Hohnstein med sæde i borgen Hohnstein, som den böhmiske adelsfamilie Berka von Dubá modtog som bøhmisk len fra kejser Karl IV. i 1353.
