Planetariet Mannheim er efterfølgeren til den bygning, der blev opført i 1927 som et af verdens første planetarier.
Projektionskuplen har en højde på 20 meter og kan rumme 220 tilskuere. Siden 2002 har planetariet det moderne projektionsudstyr "Universarium" fra Carl Zeiss.
