Ludwigsstadt er en by i den nordlige del af den oberfrankiske kommune Kronach i Bayern, der ligger ved den Bayeriske Porcelænsrute.
Byen er den eneste kommune i Bayern, der ligger nord for Rennsteig. Området er præget af Frankenwald og Thüringer Skiferbjerge. Ludwigsstadt ligger ved Loquitz omkring fire kilometer fra den thüringske grænse. Som den nordligste region af kommunen Kronach er byen Ludwigsstadt omgivet af Thüringen i tre retninger, hvilket indtil 1989/1990 betød at ligge i en ekstrem grænseposition ved den indre tyske grænse.
