Alcanar er en spansk kommune i den katalanske comarca Montsià i Tarragona-provinsen. Det er en kystby ved Middelhavet. Serra del Montsià-bjerget og dets fodbjerge rejser sig over byen og dens omgivelser. Ifølge data fra 2006 er befolkningen 9.620 indbyggere, selvom dette steg det følgende år til 9.969. Det er den sydligste by i Katalonien, som ligger lige nord for grænsen til kommunen Vinaròs, som ligger i provinsen Castellón og er en del af regionen Valencia.
