Huset, hvor natklubben Amnesia Ibiza i dag er beliggende, blev bygget i slutningen af det 18. århundrede. I begyndelsen var det hjem for fem generationer af familien Planells. I marts 1970 forlod de huset og flyttede ind i en lejlighed i byen Ibiza. Huset og ejendommen blev solgt til Maria Fuencisla Martínez de Campos y Muñoz, en enke af aristokratisk ophav. I 1976 levede en ung madrilener, Antonio Escohotado, huset for 20.000 pesetas om måneden for at indrette en natklub. Han valgte navnet Amnesia.
