Tallard er en fransk kommune beliggende i departementet Hautes-Alpes i regionen Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Kommunen ligger 15 km syd for Gap, ved bredden af Durance, på det punkt, hvor den, ud på en serie af kløfter udskåret i ler, gradvist begynder at orientere sig mod syd for at nå et mindre indelukket område, hvor markerne strækker sig ud i flodens alluviale slette, på begge sider af floden, indtil Sisteron. Denne placering gør det til et naturligt kontrolsted for bevægelser fra syd.
