Haweswater er et reservoir i dalen af Mardale, Cumbria i Lake District, England. Arbejdet med at hæve højden af den oprindelige naturlige sø blev påbegyndt i 1929. Det blev kontroversielt dæmmet efter at det britiske parlament vedtog en privat lovgivning, der gav Manchester Corporation tilladelse til at bygge reservoiren for at levere drikkevand til byen. Beslutningen medførte en offentlig protest, fordi landbrugsbyerne Measand og Mardale Green ville blive oversvømmet, og dalen ville blive ændret for altid.
