Den middelalderlige by Ascoli Piceno ligger i den sydlige del af den italienske region Marche og har omkring 50.000 indbyggere. Det er hovedstaden i provinsen Ascoli Piceno.
Byen, som romerne kaldte Asculum, er opkaldt efter Piceni, en stamme der blev underlagt romerne i det første århundrede. Henvisninger til denne stamme er stadig synlige i byen. Piceni var de første beboere i dette område, som romerne kaldte Picenum.
