Nationalpark De Weerribben (udnævnt til den smukkeste plads i Holland i 2004) er et eldorado for vandsportsudøvere. Men også cyklister og gående kan nyde godt af området. Det er et gammelt moselandskab, der - da tørven blev gravet væk - forvandlede sig til et unikt naturområde. Nationalpark De Weerribben er et af Europas smukkeste "vådområder". Floraen og faunaen er af enestående rigdom.
