Ulykken fandt sted den 28. august 1979 mellem stationen Nijmegen Dukenburg og stationen Nijmegen, ved Nijmegen Kolpingområde, på jernbanelinjen Tilburg - Nijmegen.
I denne ulykke mistede otte mennesker livet, syv passagerer og føreren af toget 4365, og 36 mennesker blev såret, herunder konduktøren og føreren af toget 74363.
