Assel er et lille samfund med 12 boliger i kommunen Apeldoorn i den nederlandske provins Gelderland. Det ligger ca. 2 kilometer fra Hoog Buurlo og Radio Kootwijk og cirka 10 kilometer vest for Apeldoorn. Det adskilles fra landsbyen Hoog Soeren af Asselse Heide. I Assel står et romersk-katolsk kapel fra 1941, hvortil naturkirkegården Westerwolde ligger. I Assel ligger der også Don Bosco Centret, tidligere kendt som Mariahoeve. Dette center tilbyder plads til eftertænksomhed, dannelse og afslapning for unge mennesker samt voksne, der engagerer sig i ungdomsarbejde. Centret ledes af Salesianske præster, Don Boscos klosterordenssamfund. En gruppe Salesianere danner her et fællesskab. Ved centret ligger marker, som danner en landbrugsenklave i det skovrige område.
