Mount Mitchell er den højeste top i Appalachian Mountains og den højeste top på det østlige fastland i Nordamerika. Den ligger nær Burnsville i Yancey County, North Carolina; i Black Mountain-subområdet af Appalacherne, cirka 19 miles nordøst for Asheville. Den er beskyttet af Mount Mitchell State Park og omgivet af Pisgah National Forest. Mount Mitchells højde er 6.684 fod over havets overflade.
Toppen er den højeste bjerg i USA øst for Mississippi-floden og den højeste i hele det østlige Nordamerika syd for den arktiske Cordillera. De nærmeste højere toppe er i Black Hills i South Dakota og højlandsfodderne i Colorado. Bjergets topografiske isolation beregnes fra det nærmeste discernible enkelt højere punkt: Lone Butte, som ligger 1.189 miles væk i det sydøstlige Colorado.
