Perg ist eine oberösterreichische Stadtgemeinde im unteren Mühlviertel am nördlichen Rand des Machlands mit 9004 Einwohnern .Die Stadt liegt 35 km östlich von Linz und 7 km nördlich der Donau an der Naarn auf 250 m ü. A., ist seit 1868 Verwaltungssitz des Bezirks Perg und Standort des Bezirksgerichtes Perg. Bereits 1269 verlieh König Ottokar II. von Böhmen den Bürgern von Perg Marktrechte.
