Söll liegt in einem Talkessel des Sölllandls , das die Grenze zwischen den nördlichen Kalkalpen und den Schiefergebirgen der Kitzbüheler Alpen bildet. Streusiedlungen und Weiler sind charakteristisch für die Gemeinde. Der Ort befindet sich am nördlichen Rand eines flachen Passplateaus, das nach Süden ins Brixental und nach Norden ins Sölllandl abfällt.
