Der Kurort Bad Waltersdorf ist eine Marktgemeinde mit 3929 Einwohnern im Gerichtsbezirk Fürstenfeld und impolitischen Bezirk Hartberg-Fürstenfeld in der Steiermark.Im Rahmen der steiermärkischen Gemeindestrukturreform in der Steiermark ist sie seit 2015 mit der Gemeinde Sebersdorf zusammengeschlossen,die neue Gemeinde führt den Namen Marktgemeinde Bad Waltersdorf weiter. Grundlage dafür ist das Steiermärkische Gemeindestrukturreformgesetz – StGsrG.Weiters wurde die neue Gemeinde zum selben Termin um die Katastralgemeinde Oberlimbach der bis dahin bestehenden Nachbargemeinde Limbach bei Neudau erweitert.
