Die Stadt hat die am besten erhaltene Stadtmauer Belgiens; diese wurde im 13. Jahrhundert erbaut und gehört zur zweiten Stadtumwallung.
Binche ist vor allem bekannt für seinen jahrhundertealten Karneval. Besonders die Gilles mit ihren traditionellen Kostümen sind weltberühmt. Lange Zeit dachte man, dass der Karneval erstmalig 1549 von Maria von Ungarn zu Ehren des Besuchs ihres Bruders Karl V. und seines Sohnes Philipp II. organisiert wurde, aber diese Theorie ist nicht länger haltbar, denn es gibt bereits Hinweise auf einen Karneval in Binche im Jahr 1395.
2003 stellte die UNESCO den Karneval von Binche auf die Liste der Meisterwerke des mündlichen und immateriellen Erbes der Menschheit.
Auch das Belfried aus dem 14. bis 16. Jahrhundert steht auf der Liste der Belfride, die von der UNESCO als Weltkulturerbe anerkannt sind.
