Seit über fünfzig Jahren ist es ein fester Begriff in Meldert. Die Nachbarn haben das Erbe von Stinne Aelbrecht übernommen und ihr ein zweites Leben geschenkt. Das Interieur durfte bleiben - ebenso wie der Kohleofen und die lokale Fußballmannschaft - und Biere aus der Region fanden sich auf der Preisliste. Das Bij Stinne ist auch national bekannt, da die Kneipe Schauplatz des dritten Champions-Films war.
