Bei den Josephiten in Melle - bekannt für ihren Glauben an den Sport als Pfeiler der Erziehung - wurde zum ersten Mal auf belgischem Boden Fußball gespielt. Im Jahr 1863! Ein irischer Schüler, Bernard Morrogh, kam aus dem Urlaub mit einem echten Lederfußball und den ersten Spielregeln zurück. Damals war das noch halb Fußball, halb Rugby!
