Im Jahr 2004 wurde hier das tiefste Hallenbad der Welt eröffnet, beeindruckende 33 Meter tief. In der Zwischenzeit sind weltweit einige tiefere Becken hinzugekommen, aber Nemo 33 bleibt nach wie vor ein Referenzpunkt in der Welt des Tieftauchens. Gleichzeitig bleibt Nemo 33 auch innovativ. So kann man dort unter Wasser speisen oder Comics lesen. Auch im Freien wurde ein 24 m tiefes Schwimmbecken gebaut. Aufgrund von Genehmigungsstreitigkeiten konnte dieser Bereich jedoch noch nicht für die Öffentlichkeit eröffnet werden, man kann das Becken jedoch von der Fahrradtour aus sehen.
