Die Kirche steht an zentraler Stelle in der Stadt an der äußersten Seite der Grand-Place.
Ihr Schiff geht auf das Ende des 12. Jh. zurück. Das von Spitzbögen abgeschlossenen Querschiff und der Chor erinnern an den Übergang von Romanik zu Gotik. Der Turm stammt aus dem 13. Jh. Der von einer Marmorabzäunung aus dem 17. Jh. abgeschlossene Chor wurde schon im 15. Jh. mit einem Umgang und mehreren Kapellen versehen.
