Dieser Ort atmet Geschichte. Die Sint-Lambertus-Kirche, die im Herzen des Stadtteils liegt, ist eines der ältesten Denkmäler von Ekeren. Möglicherweise wurde hier bereits im zehnten Jahrhundert eine Kirche erbaut. Der Chor der heutigen Kirche stammt aus dem fünfzehnten Jahrhundert und der westliche Turm wurde sogar vor 1504 erbaut. Wahrscheinlich ist die Kirche nach Bischof Lambertus benannt, der im siebten Jahrhundert den Glauben in dieser Gegend predigte. Auf der Nordseite des Gebäudes, auf Höhe des Hauptchores, befindet sich die Grabkammer der Druckerfamilie Plantin-Moretus, bekannt aus dem gleichnamigen Museum in Antwerpen.
