Der Wasserfall von Coo.
Kennen Sie die Herkunft des größten natürlichen Wasserfalls von Belgien? Im 15. Jh. legten die Mönche der Abtei von Stavelot einen Mäander der Amel an, um eine Mühle zu speisen. Das Wasser trat über die Ufer und überschwemmte die umliegenden Felsen… 1955 wurde am Fuß des Wasserfalls ein Vergnügungspark eröffnet. Vollkommen in die Natur eingebettet, wurde er stetig erneuert und präsentiert sich heute als Plopsa Coo. Neben dem Kajakfahren ist die Sesselbahn ein besonderer Reiz von Coo. Das Wasserkraftwerk bildet ein starkes Wirtschaftselement für die ganze Region: Es gewinnt als einziges in Belgien Strom durch nächtliche Speicherung.
