Chur ist der Hauptort des Schweizer Kantons Graubünden sowie der Region Plessur. Chur liegt am rechten Ufer des Alpenrheins und ist Sitz des Bistums Chur.
Im lokalen Dialekt wird der Name als [ˈkʰuːr] ausgesprochen, in anderen deutschen Mundarten Graubündens sowie überhaupt in der Schweiz als [ˈxuːr]. Die bündnerromanischen Aussprachen sind Cuira , , , , Cuira , Coira oder Cuoira ; vgl. ferner italienisch Coira, französisch Coire und mittellateinisch Curia Raetorum.
