Böttstein ist eine Einwohnergemeinde im Schweizer Kanton Aargau. Sie gehört zum Bezirk Zurzach und liegt im unteren Aaretal auf halbem Weg zwischen Brugg und Waldshut.
Die Gemeinde liegt am westlichen Ufer der Aare und besteht aus den Dörfern Böttstein und Kleindöttingen sowie den Weilern Burlen und Eien. Der historische Hauptort Böttstein liegt am südlichsten auf einem schmalen, steil abfallenden Landstreifen zwischen der Aare und dem Osthang des 577 Meter hohen Böttebergs, einem Ausläufer des Tafeljuras. Das Dorf liegt gegenüber der zu Döttingen gehörenden künstlichen Insel Beznau mit dem Kernkraftwerk Beznau.
