Der St. Jakob-Park ist das grösste Fussballstadion der Schweiz und Heimstätte des FC Basel. Hier fanden sechs Spiele der Fussball-Europameisterschaft 2008 statt. Das Stadion verfügt über eine Kapazität von 38'512 Zuschauern. Es ist ein UEFA-Stadion der Kategorie 4, der höchsten Klassifikation des Europäischen Fussballverbandes.
Der Name St. Jakob hat seinen Ursprung in der mittelalterlichen Siedlung St. Jakob an der Birs, deren Anfänge bis ins 11. Jahrhundert nachgewiesen werden können. Joggeli ist die baseldeutsche Dialektform von Jakob im Diminutiv.
