Leonhard Euler studierte zunächst auf Drängen seines Vaters Theologie, Griechisch und Hebräisch, um Pastor zu werden, aber sein Lehrer Bernoulli überzeugte Vater Euler davon, dass Leonhard dazu bestimmt war, ein großer Mathematiker zu werden. Und so geschah es.
