Aying ist ein malerisches Dorf. Was einem sofort auffällt, wenn man in diesen Ort fährt, ist ein mehr als imposanter Maibaum, der seinen Stempel auf das Zentrum des Dorfes drückt. So ein Maibaum wird am 1. Mai aufgestellt, um die Fruchtbarkeit von Tieren, Feldern und Menschen zu fördern. In den meisten Regionen Deutschlands wird der Baum nach einem Monat wieder abgebaut, in Bayern bleiben die Maibäume jedoch ein Jahr lang stehen. Auf einer riesigen Terrasse sitzen Dorfbewohner in traditioneller Tracht. In Bayern sind das Lederhosen für die Männer und Dirndl für die Frauen. Aus der Sicht eines Außenstehenden wirkt das etwas karnevalesque, hier ist es jedoch das Normalste der Welt. Es hat schon etwas. Wir essen eine Suppe, die typisch für die Region ist. Bouillon mit Eiern, Speck und Brot. Einfach und lecker und hält die Lederhosen schon mal an ihrem Platz.
