Eiterfeld ist eine Marktgemeinde im nördlichen Teil des osthessischen Landkreises Fulda an der Grenze zum hessischen Landkreis Hersfeld-Rotenburg und zum thüringischen Wartburgkreis.
Die Gemeinde liegt zwischen den Basaltkuppen Lichtberg, Stoppelsberg und Soisberg in der Kuppenrhön . Die nächsten größeren Städte sind Fulda etwa 27 km südlich und Bad Hersfeld etwa 14 km nördlich von Eiterfeld.
