Butzbach ist eine Stadt im hessischen Wetteraukreis am nordöstlichen Übergang des Taunus zur Wetterau. Sie trägt seit dem 11. Januar 2011 die amtliche Zusatzbezeichnung Friedrich-Ludwig-Weidig-Stadt.
Butzbach grenzt im Norden an die Gemeinde Langgöns , im Osten an die Stadt Münzenberg und die Gemeinde Rockenberg, im Süden an die Gemeinde Ober-Mörlen und die Stadt Usingen sowie im Westen an die Gemeinden Grävenwiesbach und Waldsolms .
