Beelitz ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Potsdam-Mittelmark . Die Stadt liegt am Rand der Zauche südwestlich von Berlin und Potsdam und ist vor allem bekannt als Mittelpunkt des größten brandenburgischen Spargelanbaugebietes. Beelitz ist Mitglied der Arbeitsgemeinschaft „Städte mit historischen Stadtkernen“ des Landes Brandenburg. Seit dem 28. Mai 2013 führt die Stadt offiziell, auch auf den Ortseingangsschildern, die Zusatzbezeichnung „Spargelstadt“.
Beelitz liegt im Zentrum des Naturparks Nuthe-Nieplitz. In seiner Umgebung liegen der Beelitzer Sander mit ausgedehnten Kiefernforsten und das Naturschutzgebiet „Nuthe-Nieplitz-Niederung“ mit großzügigen, feuchten Niederungsbereichen.
