Von 1994 bis zur Kreisgebietsreform 2011 war Pasewalk die Kreisstadt des damaligen Landkreises Uecker-Randow. Heute befindet sich in Pasewalk eine Außenstelle der Kreisverwaltung des Landkreises Vorpommern-Greifswald.
