Altenholz ist eine amtsfreie Gemeinde im Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. Die Gemeinde befindet sich auf der Halbinsel Dänischer Wohld bei Kiel.
Die Gemeindefläche schließt über 1.800 ha Wald und landwirtschaftlich genutzte Flächen ein, die den Erholungssuchenden zugutekommen. Neben dem Nord-Ostsee-Kanal sind besonders der Eiderkanal und die Wälder um Knoop, Projensdorf und Friedrichshof zu erwähnen.
