Lauenau ist ein Flecken im Landkreis Schaumburg in Niedersachsen. Er zählt etwa 4400 Einwohner und gehört zur Samtgemeinde Rodenberg.
Der Flecken liegt im Deister-Süntel-Tal am Höhenzug Deister, südwestlich von Hannover. Die Weser und der Mittellandkanal verlaufen jeweils in etwa 15 km Entfernung. Mit der Bundesstraße 442 und der Autobahn 2 gibt es günstige Verbindungen nach Hameln und Hannover. Die Rodenberger Aue und der Mühlenbach durchfließen den Ort.
