Gangelt ist eine Gemeinde im nordrhein-westfälischen Kreis Heinsberg. Der Ort mit seinem noch die spätmittelalterliche, befestigte Kleinstadt widerspiegelnden Ortskern liegt an der Grenze zu den Niederlanden im Westen Deutschlands am Rande des Rodebachtales.
Neben dem bereits erwähnten Rodebach durchfließt der Saeffeler Bach das Gemeindegebiet. Beide in Ost-West-Richtung fließende Gewässer sind Zuflüsse der nahe gelegenen Maas.
