Der Nürburgring in Adenau ist eine Strecke, die vor allem aufgrund der Formel 1 bekannt ist, die dort jährlich für den Großen Preis von Europa Halt macht. Früher führte der Kurs die Fahrer über 22 km entlang von 172 Kurven durch die Kiefernwälder (die Nürburgring Nordschleife). Aber seit der berühmte österreichische Fahrer Niki Lauda dort einen schweren (fast tödlichen) Crash hatte, wird die 'Grüne Hölle', wie diese Strecke genannt wurde, nicht mehr für F1-Rennen verwendet.
