Die Gemeinde liegt im Nordosten des Kreises Pinneberg, etwa fünf Kilometer östlich von Barmstedt. Die Krückau fließt durch das Gemeindegebiet.
Nördlich des historischen Ortskerns liegen die Ortsteile Voßmoor und Heidkaten, westlich der Ortsteil Hohenufer.
