Zella-Mehlis ist eine 1919 aus der Zusammenlegung der Gemeinden Zella St. Blasii und Mehlis entstandene Kleinstadt im Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen, in Thüringen, Deutschland. Gemeinsam mit der kreisfreien Stadt Suhl bildet sie in der Raumordnung des Freistaates Thüringen ein Mittelzentrum mit Teilfunktion eines Oberzentrums.
Zella-Mehlis liegt am Südhang des Thüringer Waldes auf einer Höhe von 450–580 m ü.NN . Der Sommerbachskopf als höchster Berg auf der Gemarkung der Stadt hat eine Höhe von 941 m. Die nächstgelegenen Großstädte sind Erfurt , Jena , Würzburg , Erlangen und Nürnberg .
