Bredstedt ist eine Kleinstadt im Kreis Nordfriesland, Schleswig-Holstein. Die Stadt ist seit 2001 Luftkurort.
Das Gemeindegebiet der Stadt Bredstedt erstreckt sich am Übergang der Bredstedt-Husumer Geest in den Naturraum Nordfriesische Marsch am südlichen Fuße des Stollbergs. Durch den Ort fließt der Bredstedter Bach in den angrenzenden Bredstedter Koog. Dieser wurde um das Jahr 1520 eingedeicht. Die Küstenlinie des Nordfriesischen Wattenmeers der Nordsee befindet sich heute in etwa fünf Kilometern Entfernung in westsüdwestlicher Richtung.
