Gudensberg ist eine Kleinstadt im Schwalm-Eder-Kreis in Nordhessen . Bekannt ist Gudensberg auch durch die Ruine der Obernburg.
Gudensberg liegt am äußersten Südostzipfel des Naturparks Habichtswald etwa 20 km südlich von Kassel und zehn Kilometer nordöstlich von Fritzlar . Während die Kernstadt und der Ortsteil Maden vom Ems-Zufluss Goldbach durchflossen werden, liegen der südwestliche Stadtteil Dorla und der südliche Stadtteil Obervorschütz am Eder-Zufluss Ems.
