Geislingen an der Steige ist eine Stadt in Baden-Württemberg, im Südosten der Region Stuttgart etwa 15 km südöstlich von Göppingen bzw. 27 km nordwestlich von Ulm. Sie ist nach der Kreisstadt Göppingen die zweitgrößte Stadt des Landkreises Göppingen und bildet ein Mittelzentrum für die umliegenden Gemeinden.
Geislingen an der Steige ist seit 1956 mit Inkrafttreten der baden-württembergischen Gemeindeordnung Große Kreisstadt. Mit den Gemeinden Bad Überkingen und Kuchen hat Geislingen eine Verwaltungsgemeinschaft vereinbart.
