Bad Oldesloe ist die Kreisstadt des Kreises Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein . Zum Stadtgebiet gehören Altfresenburg, Blumendorf, Glinde I, Glinde II, Kneeden, Neufresenburg, Poggensee, Rethwischfeld, Schadehorn, Seefeld, Sehmsdorf und Wolkenwehe.
Das Gebiet ist bereits in der Steinzeit besiedelt gewesen. Hier gefundene Feuersteinwerkzeuge wurden auf die Zeit 6000–4500 v. Chr. datiert und sind unter dem Namen Oldesloer Stufe bekannt.
