Wolgast ist eine Stadt im Nordosten Deutschlands. Der größte Teil der Stadt liegt westlich vor der Insel Usedom, ein kleiner Teil liegt auf der Insel. Sie gehört zum Landkreis Vorpommern-Greifswald und ist Sitz des Amtes Am Peenestrom, dem weitere sechs Gemeinden angehören. Sie ist eines der 18 Mittelzentren des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Aufgrund seiner Lage wird Wolgast wie Anklam als „Tor zur Insel Usedom“ bezeichnet, zudem ist die Stadt für ihr erhaltenes historisches Zentrum mit vielen Baudenkmalen, den Stadthafen und die Peene-Werft bekannt.
