Mieste ist eine Ortschaft sowie ein Ortsteil der Hansestadt Gardelegen im Altmarkkreis Salzwedel im Nordwesten von Sachsen-Anhalt.
Das altmärkische Kirchdorf Mieste liegt zwischen dem Drömling und der Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide an der Bundesstraße 188, die den Ort mit den Städten Gardelegen und Oebisfelde verbindet. Zu beiden Städten besteht auch eine Bahnverbindung. Die Mieste umgebenden landwirtschaftlichen Flächen sind mit durchschnittlich 37 Bodenpunkten nur mäßig ertragreich. Etwa 6 km südlich des Ortes verläuft der Mittellandkanal, die nächste Umschlagsstelle für Schiffsfracht befindet sich in Calvörde. Im Osten des Dorfes fließt die Sichauer Bäke nach Süden.
