Die Merkur Spielbank Hohensyburg, eine von vier Spielbanken in Nordrhein-Westfalen, wurde 1983 bis 1985 nach Plänen des Architekten Harald Deilmann nahe der Hohensyburg in Dortmund errichtet und ist die dritte Spielbank in NRW. Die Merkur Spielbank Hohensyburg gehört zum Unternehmen Gauselmann-Gruppe. Das Land NRW verkaufte am 1. September 2021 alle vier Spielbanken im Bundesland an das Unternehmen zu einem Gesamtpreis von 141,8 Millionen EUR. Bis zur Eröffnung des Merkur Casino Duisburg war das Dortmunder Casino das umsatzstärkste in Deutschland.
