Die Straßenbahn Darmstadt ist eines von drei Straßenbahnnetzen im Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund mit einem Streckennetz von 42 km, auf dem 9 Linien betrieben werden. Die 75 Haltestellen befinden sich primär im Stadtgebiet von Darmstadt, zum Teil aber auch in den Städten und Gemeinden des Landkreises Darmstadt-Dieburg, so in Griesheim, Malchen, Seeheim-Jugenheim und Alsbach. Betreiber des Straßenbahnbetriebs ist das Verkehrsunternehmen HEAG mobiTram im Auftrag der Darmstadt-Dieburger Nahverkehrsorganisation als Teilglied des RMV. Im Volksmund wird sie oft Ellebembel genannt.
Auf den vier Hauptstrecken der Darmstädter Straßenbahn verkehren 9 Linien. Zentraler Knotenpunkt ist der Luisenplatz, der von allen Linien bedient wird.
