Das Schloss Marienburg ist eine historistische Schlossanlage, die König Georg V. von Hannover von 1858 bis 1869 als Sommerresidenz, Jagdschloss und späteren Witwensitz auf dem Marienberg in Pattensen erbauen ließ. Es war ein Geschenk an seine Ehefrau, Königin Marie, zu ihrem 39. Geburtstag am 14. April 1857. Königin Marie und ihre Tochter Mary bewohnten das Schloss in den Jahren 1866 bis 1867. Nach ihrer Abreise ins Exil wurde das Schloss für fast 80 Jahre nur vom Hausmeister und ab 1945 vorübergehend von Flüchtlingen und von der Familie von Ernst August bewohnt.
