Die Oper am Gänsemarkt in Hamburg war von 1678 bis 1738 das erste und wichtigste bürgerlich-städtische Theater im deutschen Sprachraum. Die Einweihung des Hauses fand am 2. Januar 1678 statt. Mit zweitausend Plätzen übertraf es alle zeitgenössischen Theaterräume. Danach diente es mobilen Operntruppen bis 1763 als Bühne. Um 1764 wurde das Haus abgerissen.
Das Opernhaus befand sich auf der nordwestlichen Seite der Binnenalster, etwa im Dreieck zwischen den heutigen Grundstücken des Hotels Vier Jahreszeiten, der Berenberg Bank und den Colonnaden. Das Gebiet war um 1670 noch wenig bebaut, in der Nähe befand sich der Kalkhof.
