Das Theater im Bauturm – Freies Schauspiel Köln ist ein freies Theater, das 1983 im Gebäude der Architektengruppe „Bauturm“ gegründet wurde und daher seinen Namen erhielt. Es liegt im Belgischen Viertel an der Aachener Straße, schräg gegenüber dem Millowitsch-Theater.
Im Durchschnitt werden pro Spielzeit vier bis fünf Neuproduktionen am Haus inszeniert, darunter modern inszenierte Klassiker und Stückentwicklungen, mit denen das Theater auf aktuelle gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen reagiert. Hinzu kommen ein umfangreicher Repertoirebetrieb und zahlreiche, zum Teil internationale Gastspiele. Thematischer Schwerpunkt sind Theaterstücke, die sich mit gesellschaftlich oder politisch relevanten Problemen und/oder Fragestellungen befassen.
